Designer: Lisa Truesdell
I’ve been looking a valance for my scraproom window for quite a while. When I found this fabric, I knew it was *just* what I needed. With the help of the 12-in-1 sewing tool, I made this simple valance in an afternoon. I embellished the center of each flower with a button to dress it up a bit. I’m hoping this cute curtain will keep everyone’s attention away from the usual mess on my desk.

Instructions
(Print version)
 1. Measure your window and decide how far down you want your valance to hang. My window is 90in across – I added a bit more length so it would gather slightly – and I planned my valance to have a 13in drop (don’t forget to add 1/2in for a hem at the bottom and about 3in at the top for your rod pocket to whatever number you pick for the length!!). Once you’ve figured out your dimensions, use your rotary trimmer to cut your fabric to size.
 2. Use the ruler on the 12-in-1 Sewing Multi-Tool to measure a 1/2in hem on the bottom of the curtain. Iron the hem, then stitch in place. I was having trouble sewing straight today, and had to stop and use the seam ripper in the multi tool a couple of times – so glad to have it close at hand! 3. Use the ruler on the 12-in-1 Sewing Multi-Tool to measure a 1/2in hem on the either end of the curtain. Iron the hem, then stitch in place. 4. Use the ruler on the 12-in-1 Sewing Multi-Tool to measure a 1/2in hem at the top of the curtain. Iron the hem. Then use the ruler to measure a 3in fold to create the rod pocket. Iron, and then stitch in place.
 5. Decide where in the fabric’s design that you’d like to add buttons. Use the piercer on the 12-in-1 Sewing Multi-Tool to poke holes to stitch your buttons on. Use the needle threader to thread your needle, then stitch each button in place. 6. Hang your new valance and admire it! =)
