When I hand-cut my own embellishments and letters, I feel like my layouts have a true “me” stamp on them. I love this! My favorite scissors for detail cutting are the Spring Action No. 5 Micro-tip Scissors – that spring makes it so easy to cut lots of  little holes and corners without my hand becoming tired in the least. And that micro-tip point - it makes those little letter holes so easy to cut out. I love the handles on these scissors – they just feel good, soft and contoured for a very easy, comfortable grip. Comfortable. Comfy. Like my favorite pair of flip-flops or macaroni and cheese or my own special pillow. I. Love. These. Scissors.

  • Adhesive Foam Set
  • Tape Runner
  • Tool Taxi
  • 12 inch/30 cm Portable Trimmer
  • Softouch® Micro-Tip® Scissors
  • Fiskars 1/2" round the bend corner rounder punch
  • Heidi Grace Beyond the sea papers, glitter flowers, rub-ons
  • Other- pens, ink, cardstock

Instructions (Print version)

1. Trim patterned paper to 11” X 11”. Round the right-hand corners and adhere on all the way to the left.
2. Trim photos to fit and adhere.
3. Add a white-dot border around the patterned paper with a journaling pen.
4. Using the Spring Action No. 5 Micro-tip Scissors, cut out letters for the title. TIP: do not try to draw the letters first. Just start cutting. You’ll quickly find that this is easy and you will have a unique “font” that is all your own!

5. Cut pieces of sea grass to mimic the grass in the patterned paper. Lightly ink the lighter pieces with green and create a shadow edge on the darker pieces with a gray marker. Adhere with the Tool Taxi glue and Adhesive Foam. TIP: use the Non-stick No. 5 Scissors to cut pieces of the Adhesive Foam to give some of the sea grass a 3-dimensional look.
6. Cut some fish out of the orange scraps, adhere.
7. Adhere title letters and add shading with gray marker.
8. Print journaling. Cut the words into strips and adhere.
9. Embellish with blue glitter flowers.
