Instructions (Print version) Card #1: Score and fold card. Adhere coordinating patterned papers to the top and bottom of the card. Adhere pink and orange strips of cardstock to where papers meet. Machine stitch a zigzag stitch over pink strip. Create fabric tag by stamping greeting directly onto hot pink fabric. Then fold rough edges of fabric under, iron to crease, and machine stitch edges. Adhere this stamped, fabric mini-tag to green gingham fabric trimmed slightly larger (with pinking edge). Adhere to center of card. Embellish with small piece of tied ribbon and punched flocked heart. Card 2: Score and fold card. Adhere light pink cardstock to one side and then striped patterned paper to other side. Adhere ribbon strip and hot pink cardstock to where papers meet. Machine stitch over hot pink strip. Stamp circle “flower” design onto yellow fabric and trim with pinking shears. Layer onto pink fabric and trim slightly larger with pinking shears. Repeat process again on green gingham fabric. Secure all layers with a mini brad and set aside. Stamp word greeting onto green fabric. Fold fabric underneath greeting to create a double layer, and iron to crease. Trim non-folded edge with pinking shears. Adhere to card as flower’s “stem” and then machine stitch edge. Trim “leaf” from fabric and adhere to stem. Adhere flower (created earlier) to top of stem. Card #3: Score and fold card. Adhere patterned paper to top of card, and hot pink cardstock to bottom. Adhere ribbon strip and chipboard accent strip to where papers meet. Stamp greeting onto yellow gingham fabric and trim with pinking shears. Attach to bottom corner of card with flower, and then machine stitch other edge. Card #4: Score and fold card. Adhere patterned papers to top and bottom of card. Stamp “thanks” four times onto pink fabric. Trim fabric with pinking shears, and leave a little extra on top to adhere to where papers meet. Adhere hot pink cardstock strip and chipboard accent strip to where papers meet, directly covering rough edge of fabric greeting tag. Note Card Set Wrap: Wrap all your notecards together into a set, and give as a gift, or just keep them handy for yourself. Using a rotary cutter, trim a 13 x 6 inch piece of fabric. Tri-fold fabric lengthwise and iron to crease. Machine stitch edges lengthwise, then tuck top and bottom ends and machine stitch those as well. Embellish flap closure with pink fabric circle and heart fastener. Secure wrap with Velcro, taking careful note where ends should meet according to how many cards are bundled together.
*All cards measure 4.5 x 6 inches. |
