personalized pj pantsClick image to enlarge Designer: Katrina Simeck One of the first things that my teen daughter does when she gets home is change into her “comfy clothes”…these consist of sweats, tshirts, and pj pants. Since she practically lives in those comfy clothes, I thought it would be fun to dress up a pair of pj pants…turning them into comfy AND cute clothes! Using my Fiskars tools, I add a little extra cuteness to simple pj pants. Difficulty rating
Instructions (Print version)
1. I started with a simple pair of capri-length pj pants that I picked up at a local discount store (tip: be careful that the fabric that they’re made of isn’t too stretchy to work with easily…I looked for cotton pants). I then chose coordinating cotton fabric (I only bought ¼ yard…you can also just use your own fabric scraps!) 2. I printed the shape that I wanted to use…a peace sign…and then used my Fiskars No 5 scissors to cut out the shape from fusible web. The smaller size of these scissors makes it easier to cut out detailed shapes.
tip: when you manage to sew the front of the pants to the back, like I did, you can use the seam ripper from the Fiskars 12-n-1 Multi Sewing Tool to correct your mistake
These were so quick & easy…I think that I might have to make a pair for myself!
