pirate's treasure Click image to enlarge Designer: Lisa Storms With the kids home from school all summer, I'm always on the lookout for fun activities when boredom strikes! Treasure hunts don't have to only be fun for the kids … crafting an adorable hunt is just as fun. Arrr!

Instructions (Print version) Skull Pirate Hat 1. Fold an old-school newspaper hat and paint black. The kids can help with the hats! Set aside to dry. 2. Using Ultra ShapeXpress and Ovals Shape Template, cut a 2" x 2.5" oval and crop off the bottom of each side with Medium Round 'n Round Squeeze Punch as shown.
3. Punch line of "teeth" using Rectangle Hand Punch as shown. Trim down middle of teeth with trimmer.
4. Punch two black 1/4" holes for eyes, two black Tear Drops for nose, and adhere to skull. 5. Punch four white Pop-up Heart Punches and trim two 1/4" x 3.5" strips of white cardstock. Adhere together to form cross bones. Adhere all to fully dried hat.
Eye Patch 1. Place 3" x 4" oval from Oval Shape Template onto edge of black cardstock as shown. Cut using Ultra ShapeXpress. 2. Punch 1/16" hole on each side and string through and tie beading elastic.
Earring
1. Using Ultra ShapeXpress and Circles Shape Template, cut 2" circle from yellow cardstock. 2. Line up and cut out 2.5" circle over previously cut circle. Cut slit in ring to slide onto ear.
Clue Card
1. Print clue onto tan cardstock. Tear and ink all edges with Tear Edger.
2. Punch out red Press Star Now punch and five black Brick by Brick punches and adhere along bottom of clue card.
Treasure Chest Goody Bag 1. Trim 6" x 10.5" brown cardstock and fold in half. 2. Emboss light brown cardstock with Woodgrain Texture Plate using Texturing Tool and Stylus. Ink design. 3. Trim embossed design into 5" x 1/2" strips and adhere along center of brown cardstock leaving a gap of brown near top. 4. Mark four even spots along each edge and cut slits with Craft Knife to insert brads to form pocket. 5. Punch black Pop-up Circle Punch and Large Nice Tri Squeeze Punch and adhere to font of chest to create key hole. Fill with goodies.
