Instructions (Print version) To begin the sheath dress – place one piece of mulberry paper on top of the other. Border Punch – Lace one of the 6 ½” sides. Fold the border punched edge over ¾”. Place a little glue under the fold to reinforce. Lay the paper over Barbie and slightly cinch the waist noticing where the pleats naturally fall from the bust to the waist, about 1 ¾” off the center of the doll. Remove the paper dress from the doll and with your fingers press in the pleats. Add a little glue to hold the pleats in place. Lay the paper back over the doll and wrap around the doll. Notice the extra paper at the back of the doll. Fold each 4 ¼” side of the dress under about ¾”. You may press this edge with your fingers or score with the trimmer. Add Velcro to the back of the dress. Add a hem to the dress. Trim pink card stock to 7” x 1 ¼”. Glue to the hem of the sheath dress. Trim at the back so it meets the mulberry paper. To make the skirt – set up the ShapeBoss and add the ShapeTemplate – Flowers-1. Lay the pink card stock under the tulip template and use the ShapeCutter to cut 8 tulips. Emboss each tulip with a butterfly from Stencil Set – Trim a 1 1/2 foot length of black fun fur. To tie the skirt together, tie the tulips to the fun fur through the flower punches. Lay the skirt around the waist of the doll and adjust the tightness of the skirt. The tulips overlap in the back. Tie the skirt on to the doll. Look at the skirt and decide on the fullness you desire. Use double sided tape to tape the tulips together as they overlap. Press in some seams with your fingers to create more controlled shape. Belt or Wrap. Trim 8 lengths of 13” fun fur. Tie together at the end. Tie to the waist of the dress or lay over the doll’s shoulders. ![]() |
