I'm always on the lookout for easy and inexpensive project ideas for my daughter and her friends (we are 'the craft house'!). I found these frames at the craft store for a few dollars each and bought all that they had in stock, not knowing what i would do with them until we had 7 girls over one afternoon over Christmas break. They loved this project so much i decided to make one myself!

  • Required supplies:
  • Wire Jig
  • Wire Jig Plate 11
  • Wired Pliers
  • sewing machine and thread
  • scrapbooking paper and embellishments
  • cardstock

Instructions (Print version)

1. Trim your cardstock to fit your frame.  My frame is 8.5" x 11".

2. Using wired pliers and the wire winder, make 5 flowers.  Wind your wire around the pegs according to the stencils and pull tight as you wind each peg, ensuring a tightly wound flower.  For this project I made 3 of one flower and 1 each of 2 other flower shapes.

3. Stitch the stems of your flowers.  You could also use skinny ribbon or patterned paper as your stems.

4. Glue a wire flower to each stem.

5. Center the name above your flowers and adhere.

6. Use brads to secure the plastic flower embellishments to your page.  This adds a pop of red to my project and is also some added texture.

7. Apply rub-on accent along the bottom of the page for more visual interest.

8. Place your project in the frame and find a great spot for it.  My daughter hung hers on her door.

9. Enjoy!
