Love Birds layout

I love incorporating vintage touches and stitching on my layouts. To really make it work, I think some thought needs to go into how the photos work with this style. For this particular layout I wanted to use photos of my son, Jared and his fiance’ Beth. Since the colors weren’t quite fitting, I converted them to a more vintage look and it works perfectly!

1. The photos for this layout are simply wallets that I printed at home in one file. Each image is just under 2”x3”, so you can print it out on 4”x6” photo paper. Adhere photos to a piece of vintage ledger paper or scrapbook ledger paper that is 7”x8.5”.
2. Cut a strip of black/white gingham fabric about 10”x1”, using your Fiskars Pinking Scissors along one long side. Then machine stitch through the long way and pull stitches to gather the fabric. Use wet adhesive to attach strip right below photos.
3. Trim a skinny strip of black and white pattern paper about ½” x 3” using your Fiskars Pinking Scissors again along the long side. Adhere tucking slightly under photos.
4. Use Fiskars Large Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch on green/white pattern paper and adhere overlapping on right side of photos. Then add a threaded Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Button to the Scallop Punch Piece.
5. Cut the word “lovebirds” from a vintage book page, or you could type it also. Adhere between photos for title.
6. Then adhere vintage ledger piece to background blue cardstock that is 8.5”x11”.
7. Trim a 1”x 3” strip of red/cream pattern paper and then use the Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch along one long side. Adhere tucking slightly under vintage paper bottom right side.
8. Then simply machine stitch to underline handwritten journaling and top left to “anchor photo piece” and along bottom red/cream pattern paper accent.
