January 2009 card sketch

This sketch is one of my “go to” card designs, just because it’s so easy to switch up for any occasion!! Replace the snowflakes with party hats or cakes for a birthday card, or add flowers for a sympathy card. The possibilities are endless.

1. Fold brown cardstock into a 4.25x5.5in card.
2. Add a rectangle of snowflake patterned paper to the right side of the card.
3. Trim a strip of polka dot patterned paper using pinking edgers, and add it next to the snowflake patterned paper.
4. Stitch around the panel you just created.
5. Layer a strip of pink patterned paper to darker pink patterned paper. Trim the edges with scallop edgers and add to the card. Stitch in place.
6. Stitch a border around the whole card.
7. Punch scalloped circles from green polka dot paper – 2 small and 1 large.
8. Punch circles from aqua patterned paper – 2 small and 1 large.
9. Punch 2 snowflakes from white cardstock and coat with clear glitter.
10. Layer the circles together. Add the punched snowflakes to the smaller ones, and attach the chipboard snowflake using adhesive foam to the larger circle.
11. Add the circles as shown, trimming away the excess of the smaller circles.
12. Stamp sentiment on the pink patterned paper.
