Zarah, Fiskateer #3377 adds this idea to her layout- I used a  pre-made journaling spot, but here’s a great idea for you:

Grab your circle cutter again. Pull out the ShapeTemplate™ Tool - Rectangles-1 w/Majestic Border from your stash and cut out the biggest or the second biggest rectangle – depending on taste. The backside of the Garden Plaid paper is perfect for this. Get a hole punch and make holes approximately ½ inch in along the upper short side, about ¾ inches apart. Cut or tear them to make them look like they’d been ripped from a notebook. Ink the edges if you want. Get your template again and use it as a ruler. Draw lines for your journaling, as far apart as you’d like them. Voila! A home made, acid free note book paper that’s perfect for journaling!

Instructions (Print version)

1. Start by mounting your photo onto the beige backside of the Garden Plaid paper.

Trim it down to size and punch the lacey border on the right side of it.

Ink the edges if desired.

2. Cut a piece of the Thin Stripe paper, approximately 2.5x9 inches big, and use your shape template and ultra shape express to create a scalloped edge.

Ink if desired. I’ve also drawn a scalloped line just inside the edges to define them further.

3. Using your Deckle Tear Edger, tear off a piece of the Cream Buds paper, 5x12 inches. Then cut off one inch, leaving a 5x11 inch piece with one torn edge. Ink if desired.

4. Pick out your Daisy Patch blue paper, grab the Tear Edger again, and tear it off at 4x12 inches. Feel free to loosen your grip every now and then to make the edge even more uneven, and get a wave. Ink if desired. I have also drawn faux stitches along the edges, using the straight edge on my Oval Template as a ruler. (It lines up perfectly because of the squares.)

5. Grab your journaling spot and jot down your journaling on it.*

6. Cut strips of paper from the Daisy Floral Stripe paper, to resemble ribbons.

7. Mount the papers according to my layout.

8. Add the chipboard shapes and, if you want, the buttons.

9. Pull out your alphas and create a title. I’ve cut small strips of paper, inked them and tucked them under the photo mat, on top, or just glued them down (below the photo) for a fun, funky title that catches the eye.
