Small wood/paper mache boxes are embellished with patterned paper, chipboard, stickers and ribbon using the Bow Maker tool to create Christmas ornaments for yourself or to give as gifts. Mini albums, photos or other keepsakes can be stored within the boxes to treasure year after year. The elaborate bows give the ornaments an elegant look that is easy to create. They also serve to hide where ribbon to hang the boxes is attached.

Instructions
(Print version)
COVER BOX:
- With a pencil lightly mark 2 dots ½” apart on side of box (lid on). This will be where ribbon is attached to hang the ornament.
- Using Craft Hand Drill, drill 2 small holes as marked and sand lightly to remove any rough edges.
- Apply 1-2 coats of acrylic paint to inside of boxes to give them a finished look and let dry.
- Cut and trim patterned paper to cover boxes and ink edges of each piece.
- Adhere pieces to boxes with liquid glue and let dry.
- Trim any excess and ink edges further if needed.
- Apply chipboard pieces, stickers and Rain Dots to embellish.
- Cut 10” of ribbon; loop through the drilled holes and tie a knot at the top.
BOW:
- Use remaining length of ribbon to create bow to place between ribbon loop.
- Trim 3” piece off remaining length and set aside (use later to cover staple).
- Place one end of ribbon between posts of Bow Maker and continue to loop the ribbon back and forth between the posts until ribbon end. See detailed directions on using the Bow Maker here: http://www.fiskarscrafts.com/tools/bow-maker/instructions/instructions.pdf
Note: Take care to make size of bow appropriate to size of ornament box – less than 4”.
- Take 3” piece of ribbon; wrap around center to cover staple and secure with glue dots.
- Trim ends of bow and attach to top of ornament box using glue dots.
- Place keepsakes within boxes and enjoy!
