Create an adorable Santa from a soup can.

  • Tape Runner
  • Empty Soup Can (approx. 26 oz.)
  • Various Green Colored Holiday Themed Paper
  • White Cardstock
  • Heavy Rusted Wire
  • Ribbon
  • Red Ink
  • Pipe Berry Twig

Instructions (Print version)

1. Drill two holes in soup can.

2. Trim green holiday patterned paper to fit your can. Highlight edges of the paper with red ink and adhere to can with adhesive. 

3. Cut all shape pieces to make the Santa. From the Christmas ShapeTemplate, cut two green patterned holly leaves and three red berries. From the Bubbles ShapeTemplate, cut one white thoughts shape for mustache, one white circle for hat topper and one white circle for Santa's nose. From the Shapes ShapeTemplate, cut out one white oval for his face, one heart from red patterned heart for his hat, one white heart for his beard and one green patterned rectangle for his hat brim. Trim the rectangle to desired width.

4. Highlight edges of all pieces with red ink. Ink entire white circle for Santa's nose and ink cheeks.

5. Punch out black eyes with 1/8" circle punch.

6. Adhere pieces to the can to make your Santa face with a Tape Runner. (Use the photo as your guide.)

7. Attach heavy rusted wire to can, add bow and berries.
