I am extremely proud of the fact that I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, that we have been together over 20 years and that we are able to keep each other sane while raising two teenagers.

I love to inspire others to find their “artistic voice”. My mom “made” me take art my freshman year in high school and I quickly realized that something that I thought was nerdy… could satisfy my soul. After school I ended up spending several years working in a corporate job that was “non-artsy”. It took a serious car accident to convince me to return to my passion for art. I’ve learned that sometimes we need to be nudged into trying something that we aren’t used to and in the process we may find that “different” is a very good thing.

There are many things that I love about Fiskars. I love the people above all else; I have made some great friends through the Fiskateer program. I LOVE that Fiskars has created a community where people can come together to share their love of crafting. I love the tools; the quality of the Fiskars tools is second to none and because I believe in these tools, I am proud to be able to promote them to others. I love the scrapbook products; I am impressed with the wide range of product offered by Fiskars. Having so much to choose from makes it easy to come up with quality pages.

Instructions (Print version)

1.    Adhere photo to the top left corner of the 12x12 leaving approx 1 inch on the top and left of photo.

2.    Trim the paper to make the photo mat, leaving approx 1 inch on the bottom and right of the photo.

       a.    Using the smudge guard on the Portable Rotary Trimmer helps hold your paper in place and lets you see exactly where you will be cutting.

3.    Use an embossing border punch around the edge of the photo mat

4.    Use a paper that has a design with open space on the right

       a.    I put a lot of extras here and you don’t want a paper design that distracts from the “stuff”

5.    Place matted photo on your 12x12 paper

6.    Choose die-cuts, journal spots, dimensional stickers, rub-ons and some 3-D embellishments

7.    Place all the elements to the right of the photo

       a.    “push” the elements around until you like the “flow” then adhere to paper

8.    Use rub-ons and 3-D letters to create the title of the layout just above the elements

       a.    I like to cut out my rub-on letters and “push” them around until the placement seems right before I “commit” to applying them J

9.    Trim the 12x12 paper to 11x11

10. Use the edge of a pair of precision scissors and rub the paper edge to distress

11. Adhere to a12x12 piece of cardboard

12. Do a couple rows of decorative stitching on each side of the layout.
