I plan on doing lots of gift cards this holiday season to keep down the stress and spend more time enjoying the season with family and friends.  iTunes cards are perfect for the teens on my list, as I am way past knowing what is cool anymore!  Music is universal.  What better holder than a faux iPod?  A crayon box with a few clever punches makes for a very creative presentation.  I also wanted to create another card holder that can be used all season long as I have a lot of birthdays on my calendar this winter.  I came up with a beautiful snowflake that looks so intricate, yet is just a series of border punches!  A "slope" of snow holds the card inside.

Instructions (Print version)

iPod Gift Card Holder:

1.  Take apart side seam of 8-count crayon box and lay flat.
2.  Glue blue paper onto exterior and trim with fingertip craft knife.
3.  Glue side seam back together.
4.  Adhere ¼" gray circle to bottom closure and punch 1/16" hole at center.
5.  Punch four Comma Comma Chameleon shapes and trim off tips.

6.  Adhere two commas together at the end of a piece of string.  Repeat for other ear bud.  Top with small circles of gray foam (the butterflies template has a great sized circle for this).
7.  Feed both strings through bottom hole and knot inside.  Close bottom flap.
8.  Punch large gray Round n' Round circle and white Pop-up circle.  Layer and adhere to front of iPod.
9.  Cut lighter gray rectangle with trimmer and adhere above circles.  Add greeting.

10.  To create simple card inside to hold gift card, cut two lines at the center of card with fingertip craft knife.  Feed gift card through and add stripped sentiment on top.

Snowflake Gift Card Holder:
1.  Cut 1-1/8" wide strips of white cardstock and run through Boundary Waters border punch.  Flip over and beginning at same position, punch other side.

2.  Cut out six pieces from punched strips, each with three small and three large waves.

3.  Punch six ¼" circles and adhere to end of each strip.
4.  Adhere all together onto punched circle for a base and add glitter.

5.  Once dry, adhere to center of patterned paper square and top with decorative brad.
6.  Adhere centered onto card base.

7.  To create card slot inside,  cut white cardstock the width of inside flap.
8.  Tear at an angle using wave tear edger and adhere inside by adding glue stick to bottom and sides only so top remains open.  Once glue dries, add in card and you have all of the "snowy hill" to write your greeting.
