1. Butterfly Wings: Cut 2 wings from orange cardstock. 2. Textured Wings: Trace wing motifs and moth spots on yellow cardstock. Place cardstock on texture plate. Texture each using the texturing tool. Cut out wing motifs using straight edge scissors. Cut out the spots using the circle cutter. 3. Edge Wings & Spots: Glue yellow wing motifs on pink cardstock. Cut pink border 1/4” larger all around using ladybug edger scissors. Glue yellow spots on pink cardstock. Cut pink border 1/8” larger all around using edger scissors. Glue bordered spots on plum cardstock. Cut large spots 1/4” larger all around using edger scissors. Cut small spots 1/8” larger all around using edger scissors. Glue spots on wing motifs. Glue wing motifs and spots on orange moth. 4. Layering Wing Borders: Glue orange wings on plum cardstock. Cut plum border 1/4” larger all around using edger scissors. Punch holes around orange wing edge using 1/8” and 1/4”round hole punches. Glue orange wings, bordered with plum, on yellow cardstock. Cut 1/4” larger all around using edger scissors. Using 1/8” hole punch, punch holes around yellow ‘lace’ border. Glue wings on pink cardstock. Cut about 1/2” larger all around using edger scissors. Glue wing center tabs together. 5. Moth Body: Trace moth body on pink cardstock. Place cardstock on texture plate. Texture body front using the texturing tool. Cut out moth body using straight edge scissors. Cut head top, or crown using edger scissors. Score moth body on fold lines using a stylus and straight edge. Fold body sides on score lines. Overlap and glue body back tabs together using tacky glue. Punch two 1/4” circle eyes from white cardstock. Glue in position on head top. Punch two 1/8” circle pupils from black cardstock. Glue in position on eyes. 6. Antennae: Twist an orange chenille stem around a pencil (or crochet hook). Slide wraps off pencil. Glue chenille stem end inside moth head top. Punch four pink butterflies from cardstock. Place a butterfly on each side of chenille stem end and glue. Repeat for other antenna.
