Decorated Girl's Locker Mirror

Designer:
[fiskars top ten] Deb Perry

Today’s girls are bombarded with messages about their bodies that they will never measure up to in real life.  I thought I would counteract a little bit of that with positive words for my daughter to see between classes when she’s at  her locker. You can find these inexpensive magnetic locker mirrors in almost any store and with Heidi Grace’s newest designs…this plain object is turned into a treasure.

Instructions (Print version)

  1. Place mirror face down on to Dot w/ Mushroom Cardstock (dotted side) and trace with pencil.  Cut out with Scissors. Place this shape on mirror TOP and run finger nail around INNER EDGE of mirror making a slight impression. Using Craft Knife, cut away inside of mirror carefully along impression line.  Glue Paper FRAME to plastic frame with a generous amount of Glue Stick.
  2. Sand outer edges slighty to make the paper fit the mirror better.
  3. Decorate INNER EDGE of frame with Love Photo Border Cardstock Stickers , Shape Punchboard Add-Ons . Personalize the right bottom corner with a letter from Shape Punchboard Alphabet.
  4. Using the Stylus, decorate the glass with Heidi’s Hearts Flourish & Words RubOns.
  5. Using Scissors cut in half 17 circles from Shape Punchboard Add-Ons.  Adhere half circles with Easy Squeeze Glue Gun and Glue.  Set aside to dry for a few minutes.
  6. Using Stylus, add a personalized message with Common Letter Rubons Black/White.

Note: While it is possible to use another brand of glue…I highly recommend Fiskars Easy Squeeze Glue Gun and Glue. It dries fast, allowing the half circles to sit up tight on the edge of the mirror. I only had to hold it with my fingers for a few seconds, which allowed me to finish up the project in under an hour.
