  • Fine-tip black pen
  • Any desired length of white crochet thread or elastic cording
  • White chalk and applicator (optional)

Instructions (Print version)

  1. Spider Legs - Cut four ¼” x 11”  strips of  black card stock using the 12’ Euro Personal Paper Trimmer. Run strips through Paper Crimper.   Fold the strips in half.
  2. Spider Body - Cut two Double Round tags, one 1.75” x 1” diamond from black and one 2.25” x 1.25” diamond from purple cardstock using the Tags-1 and Diamonds-1 ShapeTemplate Tools, Ultra ShapeXpress and craft mat.  Position and adhere the folded centers of  the crimped paper strips to the center of one of the black Double Round tags, fan out to look like spider legs on each side of tag.  Adhere end of white string or cord at center of the large circle of the Double Round tag.  Adhere the other matching tag on top.
  3. Using the 1/8” Circle Hand Punch, punch five or six holes down the center of  black diamond and punch two green circles for two beady eyes.  Center and adhere black diamond to the top of the purple diamond. Next adhere the diamonds to the spider body and the two green eyes to spider head.  With black pen draw two black dots on the green circle eyes and fold black strips to look like spider legs.
  4. Creating the Web - Emboss entire web texture onto black card stock using the Webbing Texture Plate and Texturing Tool.  Rub white chalk on raised lines to accent the web texture (optional). Using the Micro-Tip scissors trim a wavy free-hand line around the edges of web to create a natural look.  Punch a hole with Circle Hand Punch in bottom corner.  Thread the string end from Spider through hole and knot on back side of web.
  5. Place your spider and web at a corner of an open walkway or doorway.
  6. Note: Tweezers are helpful when applying adhesive and positioning small paper pieces on your projects.
