Designer: Robin Novak I’m a full time nurse and grandmother of 5 lovelies. I began scrapbooking about 2 years ago when my son announced we would be expecting our first grandchild. I’ve been addicted ever since! Taking photos has never been one of my strong points, but I do love to be behind the camera capturing those moments when no one else is paying attention. I love to capture everyday events, special occasions, holidays, weekend jaunts etc to memorialize things that many take for granted. The opening of a flower, the humming of a bee, the winding road up a mountain…. You name it, I’ve taken photos of it! I love to make scrappy gifts for others. Currently, I am working on a special scrapbook album for my mother-in-law for Christmas. It will focus on her life through the years. I’ve been very blessed to have received numerous photos from her friends and am loving using them for inspiration! Difficulty rating
Instructions (Print version)
1. Begin with your background 12 x 12 cardstock. I chose Pink 2. 8 x 10 inch photo (my photo is of my niece) 3. Using the Fiskars scallop punch, punch out 2 circle scallops from the Heidi Grace Shimmer foil paper Reagan’s Closet/ paisley. Ink the edges. I used the new chocoholic fiskars stamp pad 4. Cut a 1 inch strip of Heidi Grace shimmer glitter paper Reagan’s closet décor words. Ink the edges. I used the new chocoholic fiskars stamp pad 5. Cut a large design out of the Reagan’s closet pinstripe 12 x 12 paper. I hand drew large brackets and cut them out so the middle remained intact. Ink the edges of this piece. Place this large cut out towards the bottom of the page. 6. Next, lay the large photo over the top 1/3 of the pinstripe cut out and the top of the pink cardstock.
7. Place the 1 inch strip of Reagan’s closet décor words over the bottom of the photo and the cutout. Cut a ¼ inch stripe of green from the remaining Pinstripe paper and layer this similar to ribbon over the seam created by the previous layer. 8. Layer an additional coordinating ribbon and beading over the lower portion of the Reagan’s closet décor words. Then place a large 5 petal bloom over the upper right and lower left corners of the photo. 9. Cut a 6 inch piece of wired ribbon. Fold this in half and adhere it on top of the scallop circle in the right hand corner. I twisted mine once so it would hold it’s shape. I also cut the tails at an angle to prevent fraying. 10. Place 1 of the circle scallop punches over the center of each bloom and adhere. Then place a large brown button over the center of the circle scallop punch in each corner. 11. Place 4 additional varying sized and color blooms in each corner to create a small collage of flowers. 12. place the title (Beauty) in the dead space on the photo using the Heidi Grace chipboard alpha from Reagan’s closet. Be sure to overlap some of the lettering to provide for additional texture and dimension.
