Designer: Stacey Kingman

This is a card with several different papers and elements, but it all works together because I used a great simple sketch. You can definitely make this sketch work for you whether you are making a special creative birthday card with lots of details or if you just need to whip up ten thank you cards by noon. Follow it as-is or maybe turn it on its side. If you want to simplify, use one larger sheet of patterned paper rather than two different ones on the front. Or use ribbon instead of patterned paper for the center strip. I know you’ll be able to make this your own and have a great time with it!

Instructions (Print version)

(Note: all pieces may be lightly inked and sanded for a distressed look.)
1. Cut cardstock to 5” X 6” and fold in half. Using the Fingertip Craft Knife, cut into the fold ½” on each side. Using the Pinking Edger, cut from the bottom of the front of the card to the top where you cut it at the fold and across the bottom. This will allow the inside of the card to show when the card is closed.
2. Cut green patterned paper (Kimberly Poloson Cabana Blooms) to 5”X6” and adhere to inside of card. Trim if necessary. Round bottom corners.
3. Cut text patterned paper (Ink by Steph) to 5 ½” X 3 7/8”. Adhere.
4. Cut orange floral patterned paper (Heidi Grace Only Time) to 5 ½” X 3 ¼”. Adhere at top.
5. Machine stitch around card front three times in pink.
6. Cut purple patterned paper to 5” X 1”. Cut notches in each end and adhere.
7. Cut pink patterned paper to 4” X 1”. Punch border with Threading Water Border Punch, trim to fit between stitched border lines and adhere slightly under the purple paper as shown.
8. Wrap twine around center of card three times and tie at right.
9. Stamp “thinking of you” on solid white cardstock. Adhere with Adhesive Foam.
10. Punch brackets and adhere.
11. Punch arrow. Cut to fit and adhere.
12. Adhere rub-ons to cardstock, cut out and adhere below twine.
13. Pierce holes in card and sew buttons on.
14. Cut white cardstock to 3” X 4” and adhere inside. Stitch around white block.
