Instructions for : Party Ensemble

Cake

1. Cover 3 tiered boxes with patterned paper, each with a different pattern

2. Apply liquid glue to bottom rim of box and stack in order

3. Cover chipboard piece with solid paper overlapping paper on to back of chipboard

4. Place cake on top of covered chipboard piece using liquid glue

5. Using Sunburst border punch, completely punch one side of a 12x12 sheet of solid cardstock. Then using your trimmer cut about 1/4" from the design so you now have a straight side and the punched side. Continue creating strips until you have enough punched to go around all layers of your cake. I changed the color on each layer.

Now repeat the step above to create trim for chipboard base piece, only this time when you use your trimmer leave at least 3/4" between the punched design and your straight edge. You will secure these strips on the bottom side of your chipboard with the colored side of the cardstock facing up.

6. Using your craft drill, make a hole that will fit your candle in the top box. Slide your candle into this hole using glue to hold it in place. I created my own candle using a wooden dowel and wrapped it with ribbon.

7. Slide two cardstock sticker flowers over the top of the candle to embellish the top of your cake, fanning up the petals

8. Create a flame for your candle using 2 large yellow petal punch outs from the flower cardstock sticker sheet. Place sticky sides together and adhere to candle tip.

9. Embellish your cake with cardstock sticker flowers, leaves, and rhinestones making sure to alternate corners as pictured. I used liquid glue to adhere these so they were dimensional.

Ice Cream dish

1. Cover sides of dish with patterned paper
2. Tie a ribbon in a knot around the bottom of the dish
3. Select a round cardstock sticker from your sheet and add a rub on and adhere the round sticker right underneath the knot of the ribbon
4. Using your circle cutter, cut a 1" pink circle from cardstock. Cover the circle with two way glue and glitter
5. Cut a stem from green cardstock and add to the back of the cherry. Place your finished cherry on top of the round candle and place inside of the dish, tucking the spoon inside next to the ice cream scoop.

Ice Cream Scoop

1. Apply a few drops of the butterscotch alcohol ink to the felt scrap. Dab around on the ice cream scoop until it is completely covered to your liking.

2. Add ribbons to the handle tying in knots.

3. Add a cardstock flower stick with a rhinestone in the center to the ribbons

4. Cut out the candle rub on strip and apply to the ice cream scoop handle

5. Cut out a piece of patterned cardstock so it looks like it is melted ice cream and attach underneath the scoop

Birthday hat

1. Use child's party hat as pattern and trace on to back side of solid cardstock and cut out

2. Use your rub ons to create a border on the bottom edge of the hat

3. Cut a strip of coordinating patterned cardstock and place in center of the hat, wrapping around and securing. (I cut my original pattern down to accomplish this so I would get the same curve) My pattern also had a slot and piece you tuck in and I used my Fingertip craft knife to cut this slot.

4. Add a cardstock sticker and ribbon to the center of the hat

5. Tie a knot in your curly ribbon, thread through hat so knot is inside and then curl with your scissors

Items to Alter:

3 tiered boxes, any shape or size you want

1 piece of chipboard that will serve as cake platform

1 birthday candle (I made one using a wooden dowel)

1 plastic ice cream scoop (I got mine at a dollar store)

1 children's party hat to use as a pattern

1 glass Sundae dish with spoon (I got mine at a thrift store)

1 round candle (serves as scoop of ice cream)
