Instructions for : Applique Dish Towel

  1. Iron the paper-backed adhesive onto the back of all fabric pieces.
  2. Trace the leaf, circle, and comma applique patterns onto tracing paper and cut them out.
  3. Trace the applique patterns on the back of the blue and green fabric pieces and cut them out using the Wave and Scallop Shears. You will need three large blue leaves using the Wave Shears and three small green leaves, two large commas, two small blue commas and two blue circles using the Scallop Shears.
  4. Cut two strips of blue fabric using the Wave and Scallop Fabric Shears. Cut one strip 1 inch wide and the other 3/4 inch wide. Cut one edge of each strip with the Wave Fabric Shears and the other edge of each strip with the Scallop Fabric Shears. Remove the paper backing from the strips.
  5. Arrange the fabric strips on the dish towel so the wave edges are down. See Diagram for placement. Iron them in place. Turn ends of strips to the back of the towel and iron or stitch in place.
  6. Remove the paper backing from all the applique pieces. Arrange the fabric leaves, commas, and circles on the dish towel. Iron them in place. See photo for placement of applique pieces.
  7. Sew a decorative running stitch on each applique piece.
