If you loved the Twist & Flip 2-in-1 Corner Punch then I’m sure you’ll want to try out Fiskars newest addition to this innovative punch idea – the Twist & Flip Scallop Corner Punch.  Like its predecessor this punch give you 2 tools in one which means it’s not only price friendly but storage friendly as well.  The scallop corner designs look great on vintage projects or can

To use the punch, begin by lift the tab up.  As you look down on where the tab is attached to the punch body, you will see arrows which show that the tab can be turned in either direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise).  Turn the tab a half turn to the design you prefer to use.  Then fold the tab down to the flat position showing the design you want.  Now you’re ready to punch!

For best results, be sure your corners are cut straight.  Now hold the punch in your hand (left or right) so that you can see where the paper fits into the punch, slide in the paper corner and squeeze.  Simple as that!

Here’s a simple bookmark using the large scallop design.  Cut the bookmark to the size you prefer, this one is 2 ½” x 7”.  Punch each corner.  Create the diamond shapes by cutting squares and only punching the scallop design on two opposing corners.

Then round the remaining corners with either the original Twist & Flip Corner Punch or the ¼ Round the Corner Squeeze Punch.  Adhere diamond shapes to bookmark.  Then squeeze punch circles and flowers, layer and adhere as shown.  Create paper buttons with the 1/16” Hand Punch and the Circle Palm Punch.  Finish off with a chipboard accent also from Kimberly Poloson’s Letters Home collection.

I like the look of layering the scalloped corners.  You can layer the same sized design or alternate between the smaller and larger designs as I did for the square accent of this card using Heidi Grace Designs Reagan’s Closet collection of papers.  Cut two or more squares in graduating sizes and punch the corners using either of the two scalloped designs for each square.  If you use lightweight cardstock you can even punch the folded corner of the card itself.

Other than punching corners, you might wonder what else you can do with this punch.  The flowers on this little gift box are just one idea to start.  Cut squares – I used a 2 ½” square for the larger flower and a 1 ¼” for the smaller.

Punch two opposing corners on the square then cut in half diagonally, leaving you with 2 triangles.  Fold back the un-punched corners and trim off the tops so that they can’t be seen behind the scalloped design.

Each of these folded pieces will be a petal.  I used 3 per flower with 3 additional smaller petals to layer the large flower.  Use the Mint Condition Squeeze Punches for leaves and circle Squeeze and Palm punches for the flower centers.  Add other embellishments from Cloud 9 Designs Finley’s Estate to finish the project.

The design of the Twist & Flip Scallop Corner Punch adds just the right amount of flair to any card, tag, frame or embellishment.  And with its compact size and versatility this punch is a new favorite for me.
