Hi! I’m Katrina Simeck, and I’m excited to share a little bit about myself with all of you out there in Fiskars-land. I’m a 30something mom of two…Hope is 16, and Austin is 12. Oh, and I’m married to Rob (who I sometimes count as a kid, too). We live in New England, in the quaint little state of Vermont. I’m a California native, so the cold-weather living has taken some getting used to. Fortunately, crafting happens indoors! I work full-time as a project manager for a cosmetics manufacturing company (put simply…we make lip balm), so I’m usually crafting late at night. I’m fortunate to have a scraproom to call my own. It’s great to be able to retreat to my little room after a long day. Since joining the Fiskars Design team last summer, I’ve amassed quite a collection of tools. Wanna guess which tool is ALWAYS on my scrap table? Hint: I don’t like sharp corners. Yep, I’m a huge fan of corner rounders! The Fiskars Round the Bend and Round the Corner squeeze punches are my favorite go-to tools. In this layout, I used the Round the Bend corner squeeze punch a total of SEVEN times!  Since my crafting time is sometimes limited, I like being able to reach for collections. That way, I know that papers & embellishments will always be coordinated. Heidi Grace’s Reagan’s Closet collection is fun & girly…and works in my favorite color (green!). This little grouping of punchboard elements was super-quick to put together…no searching for matching colors.
Another time saver in crafting for me is using squeeze punches. I love the variety of shapes that are available. It’s quick & easy to create cards by layering punched shapes.  I created this card in no time, thanks to the Fiskars XL Round & Round squeeze punch, and new Spring Seasonal punches. Did you notice the rounded corners again? I’m telling ya…can’t get enough of those corner punches. Thanks for letting me share a little about me with you. I hope you’ll round up some tools and stay up late crafting with me!
