New Border/Corner punch how-toFiskars Border and Corner punches take decorative edges to a whole new level. These innovative punches combine a corner design and a coordinating border to create a beautiful decorative edge that goes all the way around your project. The punch itself may seem a bit intimidating at first glance, but once you follow these easy steps, you’ll have the hang of it in no time! First, trim your paper to the desired size. To get an even border, you’ll need to trim it in full inch increments. If you want to mat a photo, just add 1 inch to each of the dimensions of your picture (ie : trim your mat to 5x7in for a 4x6 photo, or to 6x8in for a 5x7in photo). Second, line your paper up with the first ridge on the guide as shown below. Press both the corner and the border punch levers. ![]() Third, slide your paper to the next ridge on the guide. This time, press just the border punch lever. Slide your paper to the next ridge and repeat until you come to the corner of your paper.

Keep punching and turning until all four sides of your paper are punched.
![]() If you are punching paper that is longer than the punch, line your paper up with the guideline on the punch base.
![]() The smallest square that you can create a border for is 3x3in. This size makes a perfect place to feature an embellishment on a card or layout.
Layering paper in a constrasting color under your punched borders is a great way to highlight the beautiful designs. Also, the corner designs in many of the punches create a perfect place to tuck your photos.
