4 Products + 10 DesignersThey were each given the same three products. A mini album and three stamps, all from Rebekka Erickson. Their assignment? To create anything they'd like, as long as it utilized the three products given to them. The excercise was simple, yet it yeilded so many amazing results. Here are projects created by our design team and their comments about what they designed. Click on the link to view their work and share your comments. [fiskars top ten] Vicki Boutin Who needs photos to create a fun mini book?! I made this album highlighting a few of my favorite things using a top ten list. I didn't have photos to use but still wanted to create something fun and funky. You could use the same idea for a book of quotes,a book of your favorite songs or a book of what you enjoy about each season. The possibities are endless. Just keep in mind that you do not always need pictures to tell your story!
[fiskars top ten] Erin Roe "I made a photo book for all those embarrassing photos that my boys will not want me to show their girlfriends later. The sample pages I've shown are of Bryce wearing high heels and Spencer picking his nose, lol."
[fiskars top ten] Amy Sullivan Every year, my kids give me their Christmas lists on random scraps of paper and I never seem to be able to keep track of them. They get lost or misplaced and I always mourn their loss a little bit because the lists are such a reflection of who they are at that time. I love the lists. my kids' sweet handwriting. The comments beside each item. My daughter's rating system (the more stars, the more she wants it!). The fact that my oldest sits down with my youngest and the big toy book and carefully writes out a list for him. So this year I decided to make a little mini-album for santa, with a page for each of us to write our lists. I hope to do this every year so that we can look back on them and see how much our kiddos have grown. [fiskars top ten] Miriam Campbell "This girly mini-book was inspired by the unforgettable friendships characterized in the New York Times bestseller, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Much like the feisty, loyal, and loving friends described in Rebecca Wells' novel, my daughters and their girlfriends are coming of age together. There's a moment in the novel where the four teenaged girlfriends are passing a languid Louisiana day in a porch swing, arms & legs entangled, in a friendly mixture of "girl soup." I've always loved that description, and this album could just as easily be entitled, "boy soup." The gifts of childhood friendships are precious and I love the goofy, silly, beautiful pictures they've been taking with their girlfriends lately - and they especially love to take the photos themselves! I hope this little albume becomes a fun storehouse for those photos which make my daughters laugh & sigh. . . for years to come." [fiskars top ten] Lisa Storms When I saw the album and confidential stamp, I knew I wanted to make a journal. I decided to use the sewing stitch stamps to create a fun flower scene on the cover as the grass and leaves. So fun!
[fiskars top ten] Patti Milazzo "I thought it might be fun to create a personal mini album focusing on those things most people don’t know about me. It’s easy to share things about ourselves that are admirable or common, but I found it’s so much more challenging and fun to scrap and journal about those things that I don’t often share with others…. silly habits, embarrassing moments, character flaws or dislikes. I’m not certain I’ll share these pages with my family just yet, but I’m certain it will make for an interesting read one day…he, he. "
[fiskars top ten] Joanna Bolick "I used the stitches stamps vertically on the cover of the book and also used them as borders on each page in the book. The tabs on the end of the book are actually die-cut circles from the Halloween line, and serve as dividers between each year’s Halloween photos."
[fiskars top ten] Annie Weis "I made this album after taking an online class at Shimelle.com. The class is called “So You Think You Know Me” and it asks you to document ten different moods and traits. The size and format of this mini album was just right for this all about me album, and I had room for 4x6 photos and a bit of journaling on each page. I used the confidential stamp on my introduction page and the stitches and zig-zag stamps to embellish the patterned paper strips on each page in the book. The journaling was added on Heidi Grace flocked tags and chipboard journaling mounts."
